The club was formed in 2002 to provide an opportunity for photographers - both novice and experienced - to enjoy their creative endeavours.

It aims to:
1. Provide enjoyable opportunities for photography. These are usually awaydays to places which offer photographic interest; but hall events have included portraiture

2. Offer opportunities to learn - and, for the more experienced, to teach

3. Put forward aspects of photography to widen members' view of the subject. These have included presentations including Art & Photography, and Image Shows as Photo-journalism

4. Organise visits to exhibitions

5. Hold workshops
to explain skills associated with photography

6. To help in the community where possible through
the use of photography

7. Perhaps most importantly, to further members' interests in photography in a manner that is fun
